Larry Kirk, a Tech Sergeant at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, is on a quest to play disc golf course in every sate in the country. He is currently trying to complete some of the last remaining states on his list, all of which are in NEFAland.

On Tuesday, New York was chequed off when he played DUBZ at Warwick Town Park in Warwick, NY. On Wednesday, Connecticut was crossed of his list when he played Page Park in Bristol and Wickham Park in Manchester.

On Thursday, he plans to head to New Hampshire and play Pinnacle Disc Golf Course in Newport.  He then plans to head to Vermont and play Randolph White River Disc Golf Course followed by catching Thursday Night Triples at Center Chains in Waterbury.

On Friday 8/27 he will head to Maine - courses are TBD.

On Saturday 8/28 he will head to Massachusetts - courses are TBD.

On Sunday 8/29 he plans to hit little Rhode Island's Ninigret Park in Charlestown where he'll be at home on a former military base before heading back through Connecticut to complete his New England Loop.

If you are available to meet up with Larry and show him around your course, you may call him at 209.564.7301. As more information about the specific courses Larry will hit becomes available, they will be posted on this thread. More information about Larry can be found in this Vandenberg Air Force Base article.

He actually switched up the schedule a little bit there. He was at our triples night here in VT yesterday and is looking for some playing partners at Pinnacle today. His plan is to tee off around 10 this morning. If you're in the area, stop in and meet a great ambassador of our sport.

He called me just before 7 am on Thursday (8/26). I had no idea who he was until reading this article. He was at the Northampton course and wanted to know if I'd join him. Outside of not wanting to lose my discs, I was about an hour away (plus the time for getting up and getting dressed) so I passed. But I told him to call me if he was heading to HCC after NoHo. I never heard back.

He called last nite and said he played NOHO and then hung out with Dave Balkema at the Highlands of Conway MA, and then proceeded to White River DGC in Randolph VT befure hittin Center Chains for TRIPS in Waterbury VT. I think yes, Pinnacle was on his agenda, and maybe one other NH course before heading to Maine.

Larry joined me and my wife Cathy for a round and a half at The Woods at Beauty Hill in Barnstead, NH on Friday August 27, 2010. We played until the Boogie Man was trying to eat our disc. We both threw our tee shots on number 12 which is a tight dog leg right, 550 ft. hole, with a beautiful rock wall running down the left side. Well, we both could not see our disc due to the dark of the thick woods. Huge trees all around, I luckily located Larry's Disc and he mine. We called it a day and proceeded to Micky D's for dinner. What a day. I had just finished a round at the Twisted 12 at Acker's Acres, Bowdoinham, Maine prior to arriving at Beauty Hill. I suggested Acker's Acres to Larry which he said he really enjoyed the next day! Wishing Larry a safe trip home from Phili. today. I really hoped you would have had time for Waterville, Maine courses and Tyler Park in Newtown, PA prior to your flight. They are well worth the trip. See you again I'm sure!

I just had the pleasure of speaking with Larry and this is a very cool story waiting to be told. He used disc golf, not just to see the country, but to nurture ties with his sons and daughter, once again proving that disc golf CAN be a family sport!
