Head to the Islands, mon.

Thursday, March 17, 2011  by John Borelli

Head to the Vineyard this Saturday for the Vineyard Social, a NEFA points event. From what I hear, it's a guaranteed good time before, during, and after the tournament!

Congratulations to Andrew "Big Dog" Sweeton for being selected as the next PDGA Tour Manager. Although Andrew lives in NJ, he has been very involved in NEFA events over the years, including volunteering at the Vibram Open and sponsoring several events.

Congratulations, Big Dog, and good luck!

Did you get invited to Worlds?

Tuesday, March 15, 2011  by John Borelli

The official invites to both the Am and Pro Worlds have been posted. Did you make the cut?

> Invites and more info

Don't worry if you didn't because after May 16, any PDGA member can register.

If you haven't been, you should really try to get to Rochester, NY (AM) or Santa Cruz, CA (Pro) this year.

A bunch of NEFA members went to AM Worlds last year and had a blast. Who's going this year? top Top

It's league time! Send in your updated league info.

Wednesday, March 9, 2011  by John Borelli

The snow is melting and we're itching to play again so that means the first day of league must be just around the corner. Send your updated league info to our web guy Gabe and then check the Area Leagues page for a league near you.

If you'd like some free advertising, send me a quick blurb about your league and I'll post it on this blog. And let's try to use complete sentences, golfers!

Here's the first notice from Jason Southwick at Pyramids DGC in Leicester, MA.

Pyramids League Starting Monday March 14, 5:15 pm

The long winter is almost over and we're celebrating by announcing the start of Pyramids Monday League, with an initial start time of 5:15 p.m. We envision playing Silvers for the first few weeks to make sure we finish before dark.

Format will be best disc doubles, with partners selected by the massive group disc flipping technique that worked so well last year.

Andrew Streeter and Matt Sroka have once again graciously volunteered to run this popular league.

Cost is $6 for Pyramids members and $10 for non-members, with $5 going to the cash payout (roughly top 25 percent), and $1 to the Ace Pot, which at one point last year reached $300+. Everyone is invited and welcome, and don't feel you're not good enough cause we're not either.

If last year was any indication, league night will be followed by (continued) binge-drinking, camp fires and DDC under lights. top Top
