NEFA New Year is Twice As Nice with Ice!!

Wednesday, January 7, 2015  by mcmanus

Tis the season for resolutions, so in this new year of 2015, resolve to get out and play some ice bowls!  Ice bowls seem to be gaining in popularity every year, and justifiably so....where else can you  spend a day out in the cold sans skis, snowboards, snowshoes, tubes or sleds and still have a gnarly time carving through the woods?  While having a killer time, you'll also be supporting local charities...an ice bowl tradition.  There is certainly no shortage of local ice bowls to choose from in NEFA land, just check out the tournament thread under the NEFA forums to see what's happening.  The 2015 Ice Bowl season kicks off with the Mt Kisco Klassic Ice Bowl (currently sold out but there is a waitlist):

Winter disc golf is truly a different animal...icy, snow covered conditions can require not only a change in gear, but also a change in throwing strategy...shorter run-ups, tactful approach and putting and of course, the ubiquitous usage of colored tape or string so one may quickly locate a submerged disc.  No matter what the elements, disc golf is a true year round sport!

2015 also brings about the annual 2 for 1 NEFA Membership Deal!  Clicking HERE will miraculously whisk you away to the sign up form....c'mon...do it...do it NOW!!

Stay tuned for more blog material as I resolve to stop slacking on the NEFA Blog.  I smell a disc golf photo contest!
Peace!
